Refund Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

In short: digital products are non-refundable by default, but if something you bought is broken or significantly not as described, you can request a refund from My Purchases within 7 days. Our team reviews every request. The 3% + $0.30 processing fee isn't refunded.

1. Digital products are non-refundable by default

Products on ModForge — plugins, scripts, models, maps, configs and asset packs — are delivered instantly and can't be “returned”. For that reason a completed purchase is final unless it qualifies under the refund window below.

2. The 7-day refund window

You may request a refund within 7 days of purchase if the product is materially broken (it doesn't work as a reasonable buyer would expect from the listing) or significantly not as described (key features promised in the listing are missing). We recommend contacting the seller first — many problems are fixed with an update. After 7 days the refund option closes for that order.

3. How to request a refund

Go to My Purchases, choose Request refund on the order, pick a reason and describe what's wrong. Screenshots, error logs and the steps you tried help us decide quickly. Every request is reviewed by the ModForge team, usually within 48 hours, and you can follow its status under Disputes. Refunds are granted at ModForge's discretion and go back to the original payment method: card and PayPal refunds usually appear within 5–10 business days; crypto payments are refunded manually.

4. What isn't eligible

  • Changing your mind or no longer needing the product.
  • Incompatibility you could have checked before buying (game version, framework, server software or dependencies listed on the product page).
  • Finding the product cheaper elsewhere.
  • Problems caused by modifying the files or by other plugins or scripts on your server.
  • Purchases where the files were shared, resold, or used in bad faith, or where the licence was bound and then moved.
  • Requests made more than 7 days after purchase.

5. The processing fee

Every checkout includes a buyer processing fee of 3% + $0.30, shown as its own line before you pay. It covers payment costs that are incurred the moment you pay and are not returned to us on a refund, so an approved refund returns the item price only; the processing fee is non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

6. What happens after a refund

When a refund is approved, the order is marked refunded, any licence key for it is revoked, and download access ends. You must delete the files and stop using the product. Refunding a purchase and continuing to use it is treated as piracy under our Terms.

7. Services, jobs and game servers

Gigs and dev-for-hire contracts are paid into escrow and follow their own dispute process — see Terms §8. Game server sales are held while the ownership transfer completes; if a transfer goes wrong, contact support@modforge.xyz.

8. Chargebacks

Please request a refund through ModForge before contacting your bank or PayPal. A chargeback filed without a request, or after a request was reviewed and declined, may lead to the licence being revoked and the account being suspended.

9. For sellers

Earnings from each sale are held for 9 days — just past the buyer's 7-day window — before they become available to withdraw. If a refund request is open, that sale's earnings stay on hold until it's reviewed. An approved refund reverses your share of the sale. See Terms §7 for payouts.
